1989 UpBuilding Ministries has offered customized
weekend ministry opportunities for churches of various
denominations.
Founded
by Dr. Ron Rand, a pastor, author
and
equipper of laity, its Mission is To UpBuild
Men, Women, and Children in practical ways
to express their Christian faith.

Equipping Members to Share Their Faith
Always be ready to explain your faith gently
and respectfully.

This
session equips each person to share his or her faith in
positive and practical ways. Emphasis is on a Friendship
Style with a Variety of Ways. Each person will be
able to express the Gospel in 4 easy-to-remember
ways. Results are Guaranteed! Based on Dr. Rand's
book: Won By One--Helping Those in Your
Sphere of Influence to Discover a Personal Relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Personally
recommended by Dr. C. Peter Wagner in his book: Your
Spiritual Gifts Can Help Your Church Grow, pp. 188-192.
This
is a perfect follow-up for churches which have experienced
the 40 Days of Purpose Program! Some advanced preparation
by attendees is required. This 3 hour session can be repeated
2 or 3 times during a Weekend to accommodate various church
members' schedules.

Marriages More Merry

personal rewarding experience for couples of ALL ages. Done
within an entertaining and non-threatening environment.
Great
for a retreat setting. Some pertinent topics include:
The 5 Stages of Marriage,The Form of Love I Most Prefer,
How to Have a Good Fight, Learning to Listen to
One Another, Honey, Let's Pray Together,
For as Long as We Both Shall Live? or Love? and What
the Bible Really Says About Sex! Time frame and topics
are the host church's choice.

Enhancing Family Communication Skills

W.O.W. (Ways Of Wisdom)
Seminar! For families that include children
10 years old and up desiring to learn ten communication
skills that will impact and upbuild their relationships!
A fun time with many vivid illustrations.
Participants
not only learn the principles BUT immediately
put them into practice during this session!

Topics include: Wisely Resolving Conflict , Wise Responses
to Negative Words, The Wisdom of Listening With Empathy
plus seven other relationship upbuilding exercises.
Session is 3 hours with break. May be repeated 2 or 3 times
to accomodate various church families' schedules. Great
for a family camp setting. Other topics available.

Growing
a Praying Congregation
For My house shall be called a house of prayer
for all people. Isaiah
56:7
If
Jesus came to your congregation, would He describe it as
"A house of prayer? or you as a person of prayer?"
This
is a insightful and refreshing seminar on prayer. You will
not only hear teaching about prayer but actually spend
time praying!
It
is designed to bless both individuals and congregations
in their desire to grow in a practice of prayer. Topics
include: What is prayer? How do I pray? When should
I pray? How does God answer prayer? What about unanswered
prayer? What about fasting and praying? How can I use my
Bible as a Prayer Book? What are the different Biblical
forms of prayer? What effect does corporate prayer have
as compared to my individual prayer? How can I form prayer
cells in my church? How can we become a praying congregation?
How can I pray regularly with my spouse? my family? a special
prayer partner? Plus other frequently asked questions.
Time
frame negotiable. Usually an in-church weekend retreat.

3 or 4 of the above OPTIONS into one UpBuilding event.

Saturday morning LEADERSHIP TRAINING time; a Saturday
afternoon SHARING OUR FAITH TRAINING time; a Saturday
evening COUPLES' time and Sunday a Specialized Sermon

OPTION # 8
Developing Specialized Summer Ministries
To equip the saints for the work of ministry,
for building up the Body of Chirst.
Ephesians 4:12
Dr.
Rand is available to come for a 3
week period of time and serve as a "Special
Ministry Development Agent." He will accomplish
what he calls a "5
Dimensional Equipping
Process. He will use his creativity to:
Design a desired ministry for your church
Develop
it with personally recruited interested lay people
Disciple a few of these lay people to lead the new
ministry
Delegate the leadership to those discipled to lead
it and then
Depart after 3 weeks!
An
example of this 3 Week Summer Ministry Development process
occurred at a church in Santa Paula, CA.
The
elders desired a ministry to Re-active In-active members.
They invited Dr. Rand to come; he designed BAND-AID
(Bringing About New Dimensions - After Inactive Decisions);
developed
it with a few members; discipled two to lead it; delegated
it to their leadership; and departed after 3 weeks--mission
accomplished! Results: 82% of those personally visited returned
to worship; 57% of those returning became actively involved
again in the life of the church.
